Levi Kelly has been a mainstay for the Tahlequah High School baseball program since his freshman campaign.
Kelly has thrived on the pitcher’s mound and in the infield.
“He’s been a district starter for three years and will be relied upon again as a senior,” Tahlequah head coach Cody Pair said prior to the 2025 season. “Because of his skills, Levi will play a key role on the infield when he is not on the mound, and produce a solid bat in the lineup.”
As a junior on the mound, Kelly recorded 63 strikeouts across 51.2 innings and held a 1.89 earned run average for the Tigers, who in 2024 advanced to the semifinal round of the Class 5A State Tournament and went 24-12.
“I have improved the most over the past couple years in pitching. I feel this way because I have learned so much from Coach Pair, and I continue to learn more everyday,” Kelly said of his progression as a pitcher.
Kelly recalls one moment late last year that stands out over his career.
“My most memorable moment as an athlete is when we won a district title at Sapulpa,” he said.
Kelly, an Asbury University commit, is trying to reach 100 strikeouts for a single season in 2025. He also wants to help return Tahlequah to the state tournament.
“A goal of mine and of the team is to win the state title. I also want to get over 100 strikeouts in a season,” he said.
Kelly has had a number of people around him that he contributes to his successes.
“I’ve always had people around me always doing good and committing to colleges, so I say my biggest influence is the people that came before me,” he said.
