Tahlequah’s Levi Kelly – Baseball Spotlight – Presented by AAA Robbins Insurance Agency

Levi Kelly’s journey to Tahlequah High School began in a small town in Georgia, where his love for baseball first took root. “I grew up in a small town in Georgia up until my second half of my freshman year. Then I moved out here to Tahlequah and have spent the past four years here,” Levi explained. His passion for the game started when he was just a toddler. “I got started in baseball when I was three or four. It’s always been what I wanted to do because I always felt happy or excited playing it.”

Levi’s dedication to baseball is fueled by a dream to play at higher levels. “The thing that inspired me to play is wanting to play college and professional baseball,” he said. Along the way, his parents and coaches have played a significant role in shaping his journey. “My biggest influences are my parents, and many of my coaches have had professional careers, so they’ve been my mentors and influences.”

For Levi, the bond he shares with his teammates is a source of pride. “Our team’s chemistry is very strong; we feel like a bunch of brothers,” he said. This year, that connection has grown even stronger. “Our team chemistry last year was strong as well, but I feel like this year it’s even better.”

As a leader on the team, Levi embraces the responsibility of motivating and preparing his teammates. “My role on the team is to be the leader and prepare the guys for war,” he said. Levi is an infielder and pitcher who takes preparation seriously. “I train and practice the little things to get better.”

Looking ahead, Levi’s goals are ambitious. “My goals this season are to make it to state and hopefully win,” he said. On a personal level, he’s aiming for accolades. “Another goal for me is to become district pitcher of the year and get a total of 100 strikeouts.”

Levi’s future includes playing college baseball at Asbury University in Kentucky. “I plan to get a degree in sports medicine and kinesiology,” he shared. Above all, Levi remains grounded in his faith and family. “I thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for blessing me with my abilities, and I’d also love to thank my family for their support.”
