Tahlequah’s Kingston Hall – Football Spotlight – Presented by Tahlequah Family Vision Clinic

“My role is to make the big play,” said Kingston Hall, a standout player for the Tahlequah High School football team. Whether it’s applying pressure to opposing quarterbacks or making game-changing tackles, the junior’s mindset is clear: “I prepare for it in practice by just going hard as much as possible.” Hall’s dedication and love for the game have made him a key figure in the team’s defense.

Football was one of many sports Hall tried in his younger years, but it quickly became his passion. “How I got started playing football was just playing every sport when I was younger, and I tried football, and it just stuck with me.” Watching NFL stars like Von Miller make highlight plays added to his inspiration. “My biggest influence was watching Von Miller always getting to the quarterback,” Hall shared.

This season, Hall is fueled by a personal goal: “My goals for the 2024 season are to be the top in sacks and win a district championship.” His routine reflects his ambition, with rigorous training twice a day. “Every day, I participate in a team workout session in the mornings, and after practice, I have my second workout. After that, I just recover with ice baths and a lot of stretching.”

Despite his talent, Hall admits that playing his first varsity snap was a challenge. “I was very nervous because I didn’t know how well I was going to perform. I overcame it by just using my technique.” That moment was a steppingstone toward becoming the player he is today—one known for making big plays under pressure.

Hall’s most memorable moments often involve celebrating victories with his teammates. “A memorable moment from this season would be just winning our non-district games and celebrating with my teammates in the locker room.”

Looking ahead, Hall envisions himself playing Division I football while pursuing his master’s degree. For now, though, he’s focused on the present: working hard, showing up consistently, and making an impact every Friday night for Tahlequah. “Without the community’s support, we wouldn’t have the energy we need. It makes a big impact seeing all the kids yelling my name after I get a sack on the field.”
