Head Coach: Mandi Stafford
As the roar of the crowd awaits and the spirit of Tahlequah High School ignites, the Tahlequah cheer team prepares to dazzle the sidelines and dominate the mats under the guidance of head coach Mandi Stafford. With a blend of seasoned veterans and fresh faces, the team sets its sights on a season filled with passion, dedication, and unwavering school spirit.
“With 22 members, including nine new additions, we are thrilled to kick off the 2023-2024 school year,” Stafford shared. “Our journey began with tryouts in March, and since our first team practice on May 1st, we’ve been hard at work. Our summer included ECC camp victories, including Camp Champs, Best Stunt group and Best Pyramid. We eagerly anticipate competition season and the exhilaration of supporting our teams from the sidelines, especially during football games under the lights.”
Leading the charge are Tahlequah’s six seniors, each embodying the essence of dedication and love for the sport: Lyndee Davenport, Mckenna Swim, Grace Mckee, Callee Hartsoe, Brooklyn Osborne and Jalynn Kitchel-Dry.
Mckenna Swim emerges as the team’s standout, earning recognition for her exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to the sport. With four years of cheer for Tahlequah High School under her belt, Swim’s leadership and experience are invaluable assets to the team’s success.
Maddy Bilby, a rising star among the underclassmen, promises to leave an indelible mark with her talent, enthusiasm and dedication to the team’s success. Grace Mckee stands as the unsung hero, making significant contributions to the team’s dynamics and success without seeking recognition. Her selflessness and commitment shine through her actions both on and off the mat.
Lyndee Davenport not only excels in the cheerleading arena but also demonstrates remarkable academic prowess, reflecting a commitment to excellence both in sports and in the classroom.
Brooklyn Osborne embodies the essence of character and integrity, serving as a beacon of positivity and sportsmanship both on and off the field. Her unwavering dedication to the team’s values sets a standard for her teammates to emulate.
