VYPE: What are your personal goals this year?
Charlea: My personal goals for the season are to get into the double digits in stolen bases plus an on-base percentage close to .500.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
Charlea: During the summer we went to Red Oak for a festival and we as a team stayed overnight in a local church. It was a fun two days to start off the season. We got to bond together and introduce the freshman.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Charlea: My favorite teacher recently is Mrs. Lamb. Last year she was my English teacher but she recently moved out of town. She was understanding with me and playing softball with school and traveling. She was always that teacher I could come to.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Charlea: When I hit my first varsity double against Claremore my freshman year at the Owasso Festival. We were down and I had to start the inning off and came up with a stand up double.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Charlea: Lexi Hannah. When I came on she was the starting shortstop. I looked up to her and how she played that position. Over the last two years, it was me and her in the middle. We got along great and trusted each other. Watching her at bats as a lead off showed me what to look up to.
VYPE: Who on your team has the best impression of your coach and who says the funniest things during games?
Charlea: No doubt. Amelia Miller. She can always brighten a moment. She delivers the Coach Ray quotes whenever we need it. Her impressions and little sayings are always spot on.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Charlea: I would go to Denver, CO with Mikah Vann. The weather is so nice up there. The scenery and views when the sun rises and sets. The different activities you can do throughout the day and night. Bringing Mikah along would make it all even better. She knows how to bring me out of my comfort zone and explore anything.
VYPE: If you had $500 and had to spend it in the next 24 hours, how would you spend it?
Charlea: With $500 I would spend it on another glove. As a softball player you instantly fall in love with your glove and you can never have too many.
VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.
Charlea: I would give a big thanks to Coach Ray without a second thought. He has always been a second father to me since I met him. He puts so much time and energy into Tahlequah softball. He is a huge part of where I am today as a player and a person. He will always be one of my biggest supporters.
